Zion Lutheran, Waldenburg

Waldenburg's Lutheran congregation dates back to 1881.
The present church was built in 1948.
These will surely be the last snow pictures for some time.

There has been an Immanuel Lutheran congregation in Alexander for one hundred thirty years. I'm not sure when the present church was built.

Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran, Stuttgart

This is one of two Lutheran churches in Stuttgart.

In my travels around the state of Arkansas, I tend to be drawn to houses of worship. There is an amazing diversity of architectural styles when it comes to churches, and I try to record that diversity here. Please excuse my amateur bumbling with a camera; I'm learning as I go along.

I own a stained glass studio called Arkansas Glassworks, so my interest in the state's churches springs from my work. In my meetings with the folks who attend and care for these buildings, I always come away with a feeling that a church is more than it appears. A church is a shell whose spirit resides within.
